"The omega-3 fatty acids in tuna, salmon and other fatty fishes have been shown to help lower LDL cholesterol levels." This is just one of the reasons I love to add omega-3 rich foods to my diet! In addition to the healthy cholesterol benefit, omega-3 foods can help to prevent birth defects via their fatty acids, can help keep your hormone levels in check when going through menopause, and can be helpful in warding off dry skin, age-related memory loss and joint concerns. Add some omega-3 fatty acids to your diet via enriched eggs and fatty fish such as my favorite, salmon - try my Glazed Salmon recipe!
Lifestyle DO:
"The skin around the eyes does not have as many oil glands or as much collagen as the rest of your face, making it susceptible to fine lines." As we get older, taking care of these delicate areas is important! I like to use a retinol cream around my eyes - it can be found at the drugstore, and regular use can help to smooth out some of those fine lines and plump up the under-eye area. Start small, and increase usage over time. And be sure to follow it up with sunscreen no matter what time of year - a major "Denise's Do" I always recommend!!
