Empower Girls & Experience More!

 

Hi Everyone!

I’m writing to you from Washington D.C. where today I attended the MORE Impact Awards luncheon with the First Lady as the key-note speaker. Her speech on educating women and girls around the world and supporting each other was sooo incredibly inspiring! Empowering women and girls has always been at the core of what I do, and I am so proud to share with you all that I’m teaming up with More Magazine and the First Lady to help raise money for girls around the world in an exciting new initiative!!!

An announcement was made at the luncheon today about a new opportunity called Experience More and I am thrilled to share with you that I’m going to be a part of it. 80% of the first $1,000,000 raised from Experience More will be donated to Let Girls Learn, a government- wide, global program to get girls into secondary school and keep them there.

Here’s how it’s going to work. On their website at More.com/experiences, More Magazine will provide approximately 150 curated, once-in-a-lifetime experiences.

Here are just a few of them, including MINE!

• A “Pajama Party on a Yacht”—pour les femmes, actress Robin Wright’s new socially-conscious sleepwear line, invites you and seven friends to a private pajama party on a luxurious yacht in Southern California.
• A “Fitness Party at Your Home”—Fitness icon Denise Austin will personally come to your hometown to lead you and your friends in a workout. Denise will also provide you with a new workout look! (I’m really excited to share this with someone!!!)
• “Meet Martha Stewart”—you and a friend can win a weekend trip to meet Martha Stewart at the 2015 Martha Stewart Living American Made event in New York City.
• “Party with Rachael Ray!”—you and a friend can win a trip to the Every Day with Rachael Ray 10^th Anniversary Event in New York City as the magazine celebrates a decade of serving up Rachael’s can-do spirit and relax-the-rules attitude. Celebrate with Rachael and the editors, plus receive a spa package and makeovers before the event.

In addition to offering money-can’t-buy opportunities, a portion of the proceeds from Experience More will benefit female-focused charities and organizations, including the Peace Corps’ Let Girls Learn Program, a part of the U.S. government’s Let Girls Learn initiative, launched by President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama, which is committed to expanding access to education for adolescent girls worldwide; and CARE, a leading humanitarian organization that empowers women and girls around the world.

Studies show that educated girls and women are at lower-risk for sex trafficking, sexual abuse and poverty; they raise a country's GNP and increase its overall peace and security. I couldn't be more proud to be a part of empowering girls for their future!

Giving women and girls the tools to be their absolute best has always been the most important part of what I LOVE to do.
