This sexy summer recipe is a Berry Sorbet. I love this recipe for summer because it is quick to make cool and refreshing when you eat it, takes advantage of seasonal fruits, and gives you some great nutrition, too! When you eat this Berry Sorbet, you are getting:
- Almond Milk - a great source of vitamin E, an important antioxidant that has been linked to lowering the risk of cardiovascular related conditions such as stroke and heart disease.
- Berries - an Austin household favorite! High in fiber, low in calories, and chock full of antioxidants, it's not a surprise berries are often considered a "super food." They are also good for your heart, helping to lower cholesterol and blood pressure.
- Banana - an excellent source of potassium, fiber, vitamins B6 and C, and provide prebiotics, to help keep your gut working properly.
- Maple Syrup - when it comes to a sweetener in recipes, I opt for maple syrup when I can. It has plenty of antioxidants, scores lower on the glycemic index than other natural sweeteners, and helps to fight inflammation!
All combined, the antioxidants and healthy nutrients in this Berry Sorbet will get your skin glowing and your body feeling amazing, so give it a try! And don't forget to check out the latest Fit Over 50 issue for more amazing recipes, lifestyle and fitness advice from your truly!
Let's live EVER BETTER™ - together!
