Mother of the Bride Style

As Mother of the Bride in just a couple months, I am so excited to share some of my thought process as I search for a dress to wear to the wedding! Here are a few basic tips I have when it comes to choosing the perfect Mother of the Bride dress!
- Color - Choosing your dress color is the first place to start. You will want to stick to a color that complements the bridal party's color palette. Most commonly Mother's of the Bride dresses are in the neutral family, think a pretty blush, or if you want to go darker, navy!
- Fit - When it comes to fit, this will vary from person to person. You will want to choose a style that works best on your body so you feel your best and are comfortable all night long! This probably isn't the setting in which you want to show off a lot of skin, but if you are comfortable with it, a beautiful off-the-shoulder silhouette or a gown with a leg slit would work great. Little details like this will allow you to feel sexy and stylish, but will not take the emphasis off of the Bride!
- Formal or Informal - I always say, it's better to be overdressed than underdressed! So leaning towards more formal is what I would recommend. If the ceremony is on a beach or in the afternoon, it is more acceptable to wear a cocktail length dress. But by all means, wear what works best for your body type! If you have found the dress of your dreams, but it's long, keep in mind you can always have it altered to the length you want!
Planning Katie and Lane's wedding has been such a fun time for our family! I hope that if you are in this season of life, that you are soaking up every minute of it, because we all know how fast it goes!! Xoxo
Let's live FIT, HAPPY and HEALTHY - together!!
