I love the holidays – it’s my favorite time of year! Cooking, connecting with friends and family, sharing memories… And while the last couple of years have been trying, I like to focus on giving thanks!! Gratitude is a wonderful way to look to better times and put a positive spin on what life gives us. So if this holiday season you need a little extra boost, try these simple tips:
- Take a moment to thank those who have been helpful to you this past year. For me, my family was and still is my rock. Maybe for you it was friends, family, neighbors... take a moment to silently thank them and maybe even reach out and let them know how much they meant to you this year.
- Take a moment to thank those who helped put the food on your table. You may never meet them, but countless people had their hands in getting the food you will be eating during the holidays to your home, for you to cook and enjoy. A moment of awareness and gratitude for all those folks will help you truly appreciate your holiday meals!
- Take a moment to thank yourself. Think about three things you love about YOU - that you are kind to strangers, you have a great sense of humor, you care for others... your abilities and qualities are endless, let's not forget that!
